To answer your question in Introductions, sorry it was not me in the Big Market on Saturday night, although I do have a double somewhere (good looking lass) I think the last time I was there was when my son was appearing at Balhambras which is no longer there,
as for drinking up the Town it would have to be something very special to get me there, I was at the arena last Sunday £3.60 a pint, hence to say I only had one _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

I was only only joking, magaretbl, as I said, looking at your avatar.
I take it that you weren't offended by my comment, as I certainly meant none.
We asked for a Guinness and a glass of wine the other week, came to a few pence under £7...........and we weren't even in Newcastle !! |

Twang I have broard shoulders and thick skin, takes a lot to offend me, I often take the mick out of myself, (and there is plenty to take the mick out of) as for the Avatar I used to bounce around like that when I was young and daft....just old and daft now
As for the price of drinks you have to be selective especially up the Town and surrounding areas....Sonja £3.60 at the arena I suppose is good it is a captave market, holds quite a few thousand and is the major venue for concerts etc _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

Reminds me of a line from my most famous song You're Liar, Nicky Wire:
"Three pounds a pint well maybe in London but here in Wales it's going to get frowned on, six quid for a Red Bull and spirit, has got to be a rip-off hasn't it?"
(actual prices at the Manic Millennium at the insane small number of bars which it could take over an hour to get served at and which provoked weeks of complaints in the local press)
Sounds like things have got much worse in the UK! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

Bard did not take me long to get served at the bar, mind you it was dancing in ice, may have been different if it had of been a group or singer, we did not buy a programme as they were £10, my mam was disgusted at the prices £20 for a t-shirt.
Nathan and his dad were there at the weekend for the WWF wrestleing the programmes were £15, and £20 for t-shirts.
I think for a family of 4 there would be no change out of £200 without buying tickts, food drink merchandise etc _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

The Manic Street Preachers event was 30 pounds a ticket but advertised as keeping drinks prices down to normal and they were on TV saying this. They were anything but normal but people having no choice paid if they could! Not only that there were only a few bars open and countless thousands trying to get served. If the band, who are supposed to be a politically aware act that speaks out on social wrongs, had apologised to their fans it would have been something but they didn't! It was the most insane event I have been too and that is saying something having endured all sorts of festival nightmares! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

I have found that going to the local theatre, is cheaper than large venues, however, very popular groups singers don't play those venues as they are too small (less revenue for them)
the last show I saw was Half a Sixpence, it was up from Londons west end 1 disabled ticket, 1 senior citizen ticket on the 2 for one night cost £29 for two, pint in pub next door £2.50 coke £1.20 same drinks inside 10p dearer, programme £5, plus diabled parking right outside (if there early enough) _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan
