the sticker they originally put on the car says granadilla local police, so looks like they're the ones to call

You're not kidding. The amount of hair Ive lost over the past few months, It really has been one thing after another.

My dad rang the local policia in Granadilla who said its 49 euro grua fee, and 6 euros per day at the scrap yard.
He didnt mention the fine......

Steve has to insure the car and take the insurance certificate to the scrap yard to reclaim the car....I guess we will know more then......

God I hope theres no fine.....

No joy unfortunately. Still very stressful.

Apparently there will be no fine cos there was no denuncia issued, thank god!
But its at the scrap yard with daily charges being slapped on. Obviously I cant do anything from here which is frustrating and I dont think steve really wants anything more to do with it, which I can understand I guess, its not his problem.
The only thing I can do is let them keep it and I asked steve if he might be able to get my stuff out of it, but I dont think anythings happened about it yet.

He texted me yesterday to say to call the scrap yard and ask if they will drop the charges if they can keep the car. I know you said they wont let me get away with that for the fine, but I was hoping that the scrap yard might operate differently and let it go. Really theres nothing I can do. I cant even travel over there cos im not able to do so still with my shoulder

Even if they do agree to waive charges and keep the car you will have to do a 'baja' on the car to stop permiso de circulacion (like UK road fund licence) charges building up.

Its not complicated. Simply take all the car documents to traffico in Santa Cruz and tell them that you want to scrap the car. Pay the fee (around 25 Euros I think) plus any outstanding debts on the car and that's it. If you ignore this part eventually it will become large enough that they will register an embargo against you and any goods (bank accounts, property, car etc) that you may own.
