Just to give the latest if applying for a NIE in England (as at 2nd May)

1.The form comes from www.conspalon.org
2.Handwritten forms will not be accepted (fill in on website)
3.You need a Spanish address for the NIE to be sent back to

Many thanks for the information. Are you absolutely certain that it has to go to a Spanish address? It seems to defeat the object of applying in the UK Confused

There is a link on their website to the form on the Spanish government website (which doesn't work at the moment!!)

I think with the address, you mean that at the bottom of the form it says you should write in a Spanish address for notification purposes but if you don't have one, I don't think this is a problem.

Yes 100% sure as I had to quickly redo the forms- sort out an address and get back before 1.30pm before the office closed otherwise she wouldnt process my application-I dont think it was because she didnt like the look of me Shocked and was being awkward (maybe wrong tho!!!!)

How odd...

I was reading through the site the other day and didnt see it say that anywhere...I saw about the non handwritten forms and needs to be typed or printed...

Why would y ou need an address first....as you need a NIE to BUY a property here...so you dont have an address here until after the purchase....hmmmmmm

very strange....but then they change the rules so often here you get used to it...
