Hi again.
Are there any nanny/babysitting agencies on the Island?
How could i go about finding/advertising for this kind of work there?
Also how could i go about becoming a kids club rep for a hotel? Any ideas?
Sorry to keep pounding on about childcare work.

Lisa to be a club rep you need to apply to the travel companies in England, the pay is crap for lots of responsibility.

There is no easy way.
If I were doing it I would ensure that I had enough capital to pay all my expenses for several months plus a few thousand to set up my business. Then get out here and work, work, work; spending money on marketing and be ready to work for very little money in return for the pleasure of living the life in Tenerife. There are no jobs waiting for people to come and fill them and there are no holes in the market waiting to be filled either. BUT nothing is impossible IF you're prepared to work for yourself.

Don't let Rob put you off. Many people DO make it here but you really do have to work hard to make it work.
Re advertising: you could advertise on this website, in the local English papers and word of mouth will probably be the best.
Get saving and make sure you have enough to survive the first few months (rent and food) while you find work and your feet!

I'm not trying to put anyone off...... just saying how I would do it and emphasising the real need for hard work. So many people who try to make it here are not prepared for the amount of work needed.

Most nanny and baby sitting ads I have seen are stuck up in supermarkets inc Iceland. For me, I would never leave my child with a baby sitter I had not known a very long time and trusted 110%. Thats me though, and my wife.
I have not seen anything like this in the local papers but I am pretty certain it has been tried before.

Blimey Karl, you were up late last night!!
I agree with Karl and would not get a babysitter I didn't know but I know people do get au-pairs/nannies after one interview so maybe many don't worry so much!
