Are these like the ones in the UK which photo your reg plate or do they just monitor speeds without anything coming back to you?
I remember theres been a radar for speed on the TF1, I think up near the adeje end, and was under the impression that all it did was monitor speeds being driven without actually catching individual cars.........
if that made any sense.... _________________ www.waggytailspetcare.com

These ones monitor your speed and at some point in time you will receive your speeding fine and deduction of points OR if it's seriously fast (200Km+ on the motorway) a possible prison sentence! _________________ .

OMG!!!
Thats so disapointing. I was looking forward to getting back to roads where you could bomb about without being done for it.
I can imagine there will be a lot of flashes going on for a while then getting the people who wont be used to them.

I suppose the only difference here to in the UK is to actually pay attention to the warning signs at the start of the radar areas. In the UK, they stick up those signs everywhere just to scare people without usually having any radar, or else the sign is about 5 miles before where the radar is actually situated. So naturally everyone becomes complacent when they see a sign.
As there are only a few trap areas here at present, it shouldn't take long to become accustomed to where they are. In England, I used to know where every speed camera was for a 20 mile radius. For residents here to get caught is therefore just carelessness on the part of the driver.
Also, don't forget that you're still far more likely to get nicked by a patrol car. For those in the UK, does anyone remember patrol cars? Used to be big in the 80's
In the meantime Rob, don't go trading in for a Panda just yet, there's still plenty of mountain road for you to 'rip up rug' on. _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |
