 Post subject: Climbing and Bouldering in Tenerife |

Hi all...can anyone enlighten us about climbing and bouldering clubs in Tenerife. I have heard that the north is the place for such activities. My friend's partner is following us when we move and he will just die if he can't climb!
I take it that it's NOT ALLOWED in the areas that are conservation - ie Los Gigantes etc?
Any ideas and sites would be appreciated.

 Nice idea....have already driven up and around - the cable car was closed so never made it to the top this time....
However - friends boyfriend wants to join a club etc and maybe even find some work...seems no one on the island climbs etc....boo hoooo...!

Hiya ive have bin to tenerife climbing a coulpe of times and it can be hard to meet loical climbers. The ones ive met have bean at the shop in la laguna or climbing. I would try to get hold of the shop as they will know clubs they also do a guide witch is better than the rockfax guide as theres has the right name and grades of the rouets. good luck
ps i am moving out there in two years but will be popping over from time to time but as im the only climber in the family watch this space as will be looking for climbing partners, also i have my SPA

You are in luck!!
Cause I know the guy who is one the unofficial "specialists" in Bouldering on this island. He's super passionate about it. He's a bit of a hippy, doesn't have a website or anything, but he definitely knows his stuff.
He's been featured in a few climbing mags, and used to teach in a climbing school in Santa Ursula. His Name is Walter Goller & I can give you his mobile number if you like cause he doesn't check his e-mail very often.
He's always going on about Arico Nuevo etc too by the way!
