Post subject: Low cost flights to Tenerife |
|
|
I have been looking at low cost flights to Tenerife Nord airport for a holiday next Christmas. Teletext are quoting £112 flying Iberian Airways with a stopover at Madrid, and the same on the return.
Has anyone any experience of these flights.
Also, does one collect baggage personally at Madrid when changing, or is it transfered automatically.
Would be glad to hear from anyone with information

Is it necessary that you fly to the north? It is rarely used for holiday makers now...more a business and islnd hopping airport.
Look into the south, it is used for 95% of the flights and will be a lot cheaper with much more available. You dont say where you are flying from, if it is the UK, you wont need a changeover. Iberia do, bt the other airlines wont. |

Apollo
Thanks for the info.
I will be traveling from London.
I realise that Tenerife North airport is not used very much by holidaymakers, but the difference in cost for two passengers between the lowest quote from london (£550) and the flight via Madrid(£224) is quite a sustantial amount.I was wondering if anyone had tried this route and if so what were their experiences.

Hi,
If I were you and the flights are being offered by an abta operator I'd grab them, that's fantastic value for money for the christmas period. If you're staying in the South it will cost you around 50 Euros for a taxi. Your luggage will go through to Tenerife without you touching it (subject to a bit of luck) You'll normally have an hour or two in Madrid so your travelling time is longer but if it takes 2 hours more and you save 200 quid? Would you work for £100 an hour? |

Have you tried cheapestflights.co.uk? I use them often but fly to the south from Manchester which is usually more expensive than London. Examples of prices from 80 -150 pounds return direct flights. Unsure about Christmas flights, but it's worth a look..
