|
|
There is a series of Spanish lessons on the BBC website, which look very good (and are completely free ) and will certainly teach someone the very basics.
There are currently 12 episodes (each taking approx. 15 minutes to complete) each episode introduces you to new vocabulary and grammar and uses a real life scenario running through the series in order to assist you in learning the language in 'bite size' chunks.
Episodes 13 - 22 will be added in September.
I just thought this may help someone. The website is Here _________________

Thanks Andy, you'll see that I've moved this from 'general chit chat' to the more appropriate 'Spanish language' section. _________________ .

Hi
I have been following the series, Mi vida Loca, it is quite good on the BBC website. I want to find out what happens next.
I reckon if they made Coronation Street in Spanish I would learn much faster.

There are plenty of Spanish soaps to get hooked on too!! _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

I don't watch any but I will try to find out from a friend who watches them. I know they have one called Betty la Fea, which I believe you also have in UK (Is it called Ugly Betty or something like that?).
There is a funny series called "Aquí No Hay Quien Viva" and "Hospital Central" which is like Casualty. They also have Lost (Perdidos), Desperate Housewives (Mujeres Desesperadas) and Grey's Anatomy (Anatomía de Grey) here. There will be plenty more too that I have not seen/heard of!
If your Spanish is still quite basic then I wouldn't attempt to watch soaps or series as they will be quite complicated. I always tell people to either watch films they already know or children's programmes/films as it will be easier to follow. _________________ Who am I? Jenny,
The majority of those seem to originate as English programmes (or at least we think of them as English speaking programmes), although they now have titles in Spanish. Are they dubbed over or total re-makes with Spanish actors and actresses?
I used to think that the adverts would be good to watch and try to learn some more Spanish but more of them are in English than Spanish. _________________

Films and series etc that were originally in English are dubbed into Spanish. I know many people find it hard to get used to but after a while you don't even notice (or at least I don't ) _________________ Who am I? When have you seen English language adverts on Spanish TV? I rarely watch TV but in 21 years I've never seen English ads on Spanish TV. _________________ .
