[Dave and Alli]

Hi all

Just back from a visit to Tenerife to sort out the last few things before we move over permanently in August - hence the reason Alli and I haven't been on the forum much lately Gee we missed you guys!

Many of the radio and newspapers are predicting the hottest summer in the Canaries for fifty years so plenty of Slip Slap Slop Slurp for all, but especially our little ones and those old enough to remember Muffin The Mule!!! (er! that's the children's TV programme from the 50s - not what some of you might be thinking )

I had a feeling it was going to be hot, got the sun cream on saturday factor 50 for Nathan I slap anything on so we are sorted

...the hotter the better for me, but my kids can't hack the sun too hot....my youngest has pure blonde hair and is very fair, so he always has a tshirt , hat and factor 30+ on, and i have to get it on prescription as he has to have e45 for his skin.....i on the other hand start off on factor 6 and by the start of the second week have moved on to oil...bad , bad, bad...and stupid.we only go to the reef in dec/jan, so the kids don't suffer too much as its not as hot.....if it was up to me, i'd have 6 weeks of sun, sun, sun..

I usually wear Factor 2-8... Im lucky, Natural blonde but not pale! Have a natural brownish colour to me already.. So i tan easily and dont burn too easily

..i have very sallow skin, and go brown very quickly, i also go a very "dirty" brown, not golden brown, huh!! but on the good side, i always looked tanned!!

I always look dirty when I tan it is so annoying, funny though my legs go a nice brown, apart from the big hot cross bun scar on my knee

I have been told that my skin develops a delicate, luminescent sheen, that makes it soft to the touch....

You lot who can get a tan are so lucky. I wear factor 60 and still look like a sun dried tomato half of the time. (The rest of the time I stay indoors).

All my life (the whole 22 years that is hehe) I have burnt when exposed to any form of sun but since my year in tenerife i now get a lovely tan instead of the usual beetroot effect yay! it helps that the UK weather has been lush this last few weeks apart from the odd days of rain that likes to make an appearance
