 Post subject: Bat Flower - one from El Botanico |

The Bat Flower (Tacca Chantieri) is not part of the Tenerife flora but it does grow in the botanic gardens in Puerto de la Cruz where this one was photographed. It is apparently quite tricky to grow successfully although it is sold commercially I discovered online.

Amazing, I can see why it's called The Bat Flower, it does have a remarkable resemblance at first glance. I suppose you see what you expect to see, the big bat ears!
