Post subject: Looking for Hotel |
|
|
Hi
I'm thinking of popping over the water from La Palma for a few days. I am looking for a nice hotel, that isn't to pricey
Can anybody give us some recomendations. I would like to stay away from the south if possible.
Thanks
Theresa

Hello Theresa
OK, away from the south but Tenerife has lots of other areas. Do you fancy Santa Cruz, Puerto, somewhere off the beaten track, coastal resort, in the hills?
Give us a few pointers and I am sure we can give you a few ideas. _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

It looks really nice, especially for 30 euros per night.
Here is a review I found on it
This hotel is situated in the residential area of San Antonio, 1.5 km from the sandy beach and the resort centre and 2 km from the famous Lago Martianez. The Acuario has fantastic views to Mountain Teide and Puerto de la Cruz and due to its excellent location, it is particularly popular with couples and young holiday-makers who seek simple yet friendly accommodation with good levels of service
Go for it. _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

Hi helresa. I think that you may find the Acuario to be too far out of town.To walk downhill to the seafront would take around fifteen to twenty-five minutes. A taxi back would cost around three to four euros. It is just off the beaten track.
You don't say when you are intending to stay in Puerto. That would make a difference, but I can recommend this site to find accommodation.
http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk/default.aspx
We have used it many times, including two visits to Playa Cancajos. We have found it very competitive. For instance for the hotel you have found they are quoting one weeks bed and breakfast in October for £162.20
Also on the site there are eleven reviews from guests who have stayed there at the Acuario.
They are quoting for the same week the Eden Resort Hotel. Bed and breakfast is £168.70 This hotel has a quicker route down (what is referred to as Cardiac Hill) to the town, but again taxis back will cost no more than four euros at night rate. Friends have stayed there twice, and they are looking to return in the winter.
If there are any hotels that you like the look of please do comeback, and I will endeavour to give you an opinion from a native of Puerto. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

Just to let you know that our stay at the acuario was OK. The food is excellent, the room was a little small and parking was difficult but at 132€ for 3 nights half board it was just what we were looking for. We had our own car with us so the fact that it was a walk up from the town wasn't a problem. I would recommend this palce _________________ Theresa Davis
