Hmmm...
This image is 640 x 480.
I copied and pasted the URL into the Img tag.
What am I missing?

640 x 480 is a good size. I put all my photos onto Myspacetenerife and copy the link. I've not had any problems with that and I see you're already on there so try that. _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

try:
<IMG>http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w326/VisionRiver/WWW_CaliforniaSF000.jpg</IMG> but replace the < & > with these brackets [ & ]
It looks as though you got the url for an edit page 'action=edit¤t'
It gives you this:

The bridge, from Golden Gate Park beach.
Shasta was memorably described by the poet Joaquin Miller:
"Lonely as God, and white as a winter moon,
Mount Shasta starts up sudden and solitary from the heart
of the great black forests of Northern California."
Naturalist and author John Muir said of Shasta:
"When I first caught sight of it over the braided folds
of the Sacramento Valley, I was fifty miles away and afoot,
alone and weary. Yet all my blood turned to wine, and
I have not been weary since."
Hey, Bard, I like your hair! Nice color! |

Sadly, and I was quite young, I went to Washington instead of NY because of media hype and all the stuff you read and / or see on TV, I thought I may get shot or stabbed or robbed !!!! Sad really.

We also visited San Francisco, Karl. We loved it. The pictures of The Golden Gate Bridge bring back memories. Fisherman's Wharf is where you found the "street guys", and what about the tram cars on those steep streets? Also I remember a little road labelled the crookedest street in the world. We stayed in China Town in a hotel shaped like a pyramid and built on rockers. I had my first ever burger in an establishment called Clown Alley nearby. We also visited Alcatraz when we were there.
I must say Karl, that when we visited New York City I have never felt so intimidated in my life. It didn't help when the taxi driver dropping us off at our hotel at around two in the morning wouldn't let us out of the car until he was sure that it was safe to do so. He gave us a stern warning not to venture out at night. We were only just off of Time Square. I was so relieved when it was time to move on. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

Have you seen them? I imagine seeing the Grand Canyon is an experience and quite over whelming. |
After we left New York we flew up to Buffallo. We stayed there for two nights and we collected a hire car. We drove across the boarder to the Canadian side, so we experienced The Falls from both the USA and Canada. It is an awesome sight. We were able to go on a conducted tour along passageways behind The Falls, and we were provided with yellow waterproofs that went from our heads down to the yellow wellies, also provided. I think that I still have the finger marks on my wrist as Mrs Seagull gripped me on a boat called 'The Maid of the Mist.' The boat went right up to the base of The Falls and the turbulence and the immense spray frightened the life out of her. Again we were decked out in waterproofs, but blue in colour.
On another trip to the USA we drove from Las Vegas to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. We took in a conducted tour of the Hoover Damn on the way - that was really worthwhile. We stayed in The Lodge at the Canyon, so we were able to watch a sunrise. The sun first appeared as a pin-prick on the opposite ridge and slowly rose up in to the sky. As it did so the colours and the hues of its reflection on The Canyon changed. Again it was an unforgettable experience. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

You do know TS that I am now very very jealous.
They sound like unforgettable experiences.
One day maybe I might get to see it. _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gay
The glory that was Rome is of another day
I've been terribly alone and forgotten in Manhattan
I'm going home to my city by the Bay
I left my heart in San Francisco
High on a hill, it calls to me
To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars
The morning fog may chill the air, I don't care
My love waits there in San Francisco
Above the blue and windy sea
When I come home to you, San Francisco
Your golden sun will shine for me
(Popularized by Tony Bennett)

Great photos again Vision River I see you have got the hang of it now.
Careful on your quotes, I had to check to make sure I am not loosing my marbles but I never said anything about tram cars on steep streets !!
What about Alcatraz did you go over there, I did not get chance but would have liked to have seen it. _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

I made an error when editing the coded quote. Thanks for pointing it out. I just found yesterday how to edit a post after saving it.
Losing your marbles? Hey, I'm the Tenerife Nut. That is a title that has to be earned!

I just saw Alcatraz from a distance. Our son visited with his girlfriend. Did you get over to Yosemite Park? _________________

No
Another thing I should have done but I only had a limited amount of time.
I have seen a lot of photos and it certainly does look like an area of outstanding natural beauty.
That reminds me when I was a young child I always wanted to live in a log cabin in the Rockies for a while lol. Too much Grizzly Adams I think. Wonder if Ben is still alive? _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

Yes, it is.
We lived near it for awhile, and our younger son stays in the area.
