You really need to ask specific questions rather than expect tradesmen to take the time to type reams of info that may not be necessary.

Well if all you want is a general outline then read the previous posts under whichever heading you prefer or in specific articles posted as stickies and if you still can't find your answers then please feel free to ask questions.

I'm sure you can appreciate the many times that different people repeatedly ask the same questions over and over again. I can assure you that if you ask a question which have not been asked before then Rob will do his best to answer it, the same as most of us. Although obviously the lucky people that already live in Tenerife have a better chance of answering a lot of the questions
I agree with Rob's comment, what exactly did you want to know about.....the weather, the housing situation, the job situation, the social, getting an NIE, registering with a doctor, what the weather is like in a particular month, is the sea cold in Silencio, what type of Melon do they sell on the beach, will the sun shine tomorrow?
I don't think that after only 5 posts on the forum you should be 'having a pop' really, do you?

Hi Astrex
Quite simply its not all sun, sea, sand and sangria. Its hard work and anyone that thinks otherwise has their head buried so deeply in the sand they are in grave danger of suffocation lol.
Of course being here does have it plus points socially, cost of living etc however cost of living is of course is in line with earnings.
For us it was an uphill battle but because of some of the fantastic members of this forum life was made so much easier with helpful info and recommendations. You learn very quickly who your friends are I can tell you.
My advice, get legal, find where you wanna live, get your head down and get stuck in.
Cannot really help with carpentry and building but I do have friends in this field, some legal some not. Some advertise some do not. Most rely on flyers stuck up in supermarkets with mobile numbers and word of mouth. A good honest and reliable tradesman will get work, I am lucky enough to know a fantastic carpenter and electrician, we use them quite frequently and always put their names forward when asked.
If you are considering this field and coming over then the directory on this site would be an excellent place to start.
