Post subject: Two male lizards fighting |
|
|
Yesterday I managed to capture this photo of two male Tenerife lizards fighting. They were so engaged in their battle I was able to get close enough to do so. They were in Santa Úrsula where there were plenty and I even saw a baby Skink on the steps of the square but it ran into a crack before I had time to get a picture.

Yes, that is what it is called in Spanish books. As opposed to Lagarto Tizón, which are the other lizards we see a lot of here.
I know a lot of Spanish words for animals and plants but this knowledge is of very little use when trying to talk to people. _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

Liso/a actually means smooth so that may be a useful word.
So our Lisa could also be known as Miss Smoothie _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |

That would explain why the reptile is called a Lisa then seeing as it is very smooth and slinky too!
Actually I have a singer-songwriter friend called Lisa-Marie Glover who, not knowing that a skink was also a Lisa, wanted a photo taken holding one in Parque del Drago. Here it is:
