Post subject: Accountancy firms in Tenerife? |
|
|
I've done a bit of Googling but I've not had much luck. I've found one - tenerifeaccountants.com which was actually found in your directory but I've not managed to find any others and I'm sure there must be loads?
The website of tenerifeaccountants.com doesn't look very professional but it does look like it's very English based - they don't even have a Spanish version of the site! Does anyone know anything about them? They are based in Santa Cruz.
If anyone knows any websites for other firms that it would be great if you could post them. |

What qualifications do you have that enable you to judge the professional quality of websites?
When you 'Google' Tenerife accountants their site appears No 1 and 2 in the results. You cannot get any better than that! It may not be the prettiest, all singing, all dancing website but I can assure you that there is no better accountants' site in Tenerife.
The company does have a Spanish site under a different domain name because their marketing aim for the Spanish market is different.
Several of the members on here use this company (on my recommendation) because after 21+ years here and trying several different accountancy firms I find this company to be the best.

I don't know any accountants in Tenerife but simply commenting on the website itself....
To me it looks clean, uncluttered and is easily navigated with an accurate 'site map' to assist.
Line 31 of the code on most pages has a missing </img> tag but that's about all and it's specified as 'XHTML 1.0 Strict'
In my opinion nice work on this site, who ever wrote it Rob.
On my widescreen monitor some pages render the bottom blue line through the image on the left (either on top or beneath depending if using Firefox or IE) but this is caused by the effective shortening of the text on the widescreen. _________________

Judging by Cortez' previous posts I suspect that he's looking for some work as he is a trainee accountant and wants to spend some time in Tenerife. _________________ .

Dropped myself in it there ...
But anyway, I have no qualifications to allow me to judge it - it was just my opinion. Coming top on Google is more to do with SEO and a keyword domain than site design! You're probably right about it being the best accountancy website in Tenerife though and site design isn't everything I guess. It just gave me the image of it being a very small firm (which may actually be the case?).
That said, it's better than the website situation we have here - we don't even have one!
And yeah you are right, I'm asking from a potential employee perspective - not a potential client. Just trying to find out what's over there. I should really book a holiday and have a look around. I could do with another holiday. |

You are absolutely correct, the most wonderfully designed website is of no real use if potential clients cannot find it via the search engines.
A successful website is made from three disciplines Design, Programming and functionality and by far the most important Search engine optimisation.
Some of our competitors are better designers than we are, many of them use flash which produces very clear images but cannot be picked up by the search engines. Our philosophy is that search engine optimisation issues should always outweigh design matters.
A website should do two things,
1, provide a showcase for the company for clients visiting the site as a known address.
2, provide an opportunity for new clients to find the site by using keywords and search engines.
If any website cannot be found easily (ideally front page) in the search engine results it's not doing its job. _________________ .
