Anyone relevant who have kids, or expecting kids, or know about kids, or know about groups where I can meet these kind of people?

I am 9 weeks pregnant facing the daunting experience of pregnancy in a foreign country so anyone with experience in this or just anyone who is willing to make friends with an anxious first time mum to be PM me or MSN me at angells@fsmail.net

There is a group that meet on Tuesdays at 10.30am - 12 in Costa del Silencio. I used to go there and although it may be a bit far for you, you may find others that live near you and who can give you a lift. I still go on night's out with them and my son's not been going for over 3 years!!! They are really lovely people. I made my two best friends there and still friendly with a lot of the others.

When you become a mother your whole friends circle changes so these groups really are the best place to meet others with similar interests (ie bringing up their kids!!).

Ok thanks hun - yeah silencio is a little far but as you say I may be able to car share! I take is this is a mother and baby group rather than an expectant mother group?

Hoping to meet lots oof new people as my current circle are nowhere close to having kids or anything!

Yeah, that is a mother and toddler group, although some pregnaant mothers go too and others who have toddlers are pregnant again.

I was in the same situation. Didn't know anyone with kids or pregnant.

The anti-natal classes with the Spanish mid-wife were held on Las Vistas beach (not sure if still the same) and you got to meet other pregnant women, although the majority were Spanish / South American. You would need at least basic Spanish to go to the classes.

I know loads of people with kids if you want to meet up sometime. We go to the park, pool etc. Do you work every day? What times? I could pick you up maybe. You could get some practice and see how us mother's live!! We have fun too and just can't go out every night on the p*** anymore!!

Hi, I'm aware this thread hasn't been used in a while but my partner and I are moving to Tenerife in June and I would like to join a mother and baby/toddler group. I have a six month old son called Andy and I'd like to meet some other mothers and hopefully make some friends.

Angell is still here and has had her baby - a girl called Amber who is now 15 weeks.

The mother and toddler group in Silencio is also still meeting at the same time and same place.

Hi. My name's Kat. Ive just moved to the island 5 weeks ago and expecting my first baby in December. I wondered if anyone had more information on the mother and baby meetings in Silencio as it is just down the road from me. Also, as this is my first, Id love to meet up with other Mums so I can know what to expect or other pregnant ladies to share the experience with.

UPDATE.... I've just spoken to Jenny and she says that they meet on Tuesdays at 10.30 AM at the Christian Fellowship church situated on the lower level of Coral Mar square in Costa del Silencio. So you can try tomorrow, although not a Mum myself, I do know several of the members and they are a really friendly bunch so don't be afraid to give it a go.
