Hey folks!

2 girls, both 18, both from Scotland - flying out May 09! Hoping to stay until September. We're going to try and find PR/waitressing/bar jobs etc. and experience the working holiday life!

Any tips would be much appreciated (YES, I have read the stickies and info on jobs etc. but it's always nice to get a wee tad of personal info)! Obviously we are bringing a bit of back up money to keep us going for a couple of months and if we fail then, hey, at least we'll have had the holiday of a lifetime.

Does anyone have any advice on things NOT to do? I have read claire24's post which was v helpful.

Forget to mention that I would also happily work in an office or Estate Agency although I guess this won't be an option as I hardly speak any Spanish at all (yes, I'm learning but I'm not going to be fluent by May).

I have one year's experience in a Chartered Surveyors where I assisted in the Estate Agency side of things - both lettings/sales, maintenance etc. I also did alot of copy and audio typing in this job and also was the main point of contact on the switchboard. I have been working in the Accounts Payable dept. of our local Council for over a year now where I check and process invoices, trainee wages, petty cash, urgent payment requests, Social Services payments etc. I have both NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Business and Admin.

My friend is at college full-time and will be a qualified Beauty Therapist by the time we leave and has also been working as a shop assistant for the past couple of years.

So does, anyone have any tips (15 views and no comments!!!)?

Obviously I dont wan't a full time permanent position but would be very interested to know if there are many temp positions in offices around Tenerife South.

You haven't really asked any questions. You've read the stickies etc. You've read Claire's post of what went wrong. Read Ezzy's also.

As a businessman I wouldn't want to go the trouble and cost of training someone who only wants to stay for a short time Added to that would be the fact that you wouldn't be able to do a lot of the work because you're not fluent in Spanish. Just imagine if you worked next to someone in your office who couldn't speak English.

You'll have more luck with the PR/bar/waitressing jobs.
