When Mam was over her friends hubby was pick pocketed.
It happened on the walkway between Harleys/Los Geranious going towards the Atlantis. A man walked passed them and said Hola the men were a bit behind and he approaced them and gave a High Five motion then sort of frisked them both, one of the Bobs realised he had been dipped ...so the other Bob 73 years old when running after him he ran off towards the marina
There was only about 50 or so euros in the wallet but it was his brothers who reciently dies so sentemental.
Mam heard of quite a few peoplewho were robbed at the time, _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

Hi,
What a shame.
My husband has never had a wallet for that very reason, justs folds his money and keeps in pocket, no wallet to snatch then. |

Perhaps we should all have fake wallets with devices which explode when opened. _________________ .

Oh thats awful Margaret,
We were in a bar down that way the other week and it happened to a bloke who was just coming into the bar, his wallet was taken and the guy ran off.
He said it had his last 150€ in and they were going back to the uk in the morning, luckily his wife could pay for them to have a drink!

Sorry to hear that Margaret,
3 or 4 years ago we came out of a bar in PDLA and my hubby was stopped by two guys trying to give him a flyer for a bar or whatever.
I was in front and just carried on walking, ignoring them.
He refused the flyer, but realised that one of them had brushed past him. He checked his trouser pocket and found they had managed to take his apartment key (the only thing in the pocket). He shouted after them to let him have the key back as it was no good to them not having any name on it, they just threw it at him.
We were lucky, it could have been worse.
We have always been careful since. _________________ Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. |

Sorry to hear of this bad experience.
It is things like this that give Tenerife a bad name, but I guess it goes on in every country. _________________

Sorry to read what happened!
I was warned about this as a potential problem when I first came to the island. I was going to Santa Cruz market with friends and they warned me about pickpockets there.
I have never carried a wallet and here I put what I have in zipped pockets and try not to carry much on me anyway.
I nevertheless feel a lot safer here on Tenerife than I did back in Wales! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

I think what upset mam more was the fact that her partner Bob who is 73 ran after the guy _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

Hmmm strange how you had information on 'slave girl armor' to hand Rob.
Although the 'cold metal bra' looks Quite reasonable and only $85 it even has nips. Thats the wifes xmas pressie sorted.
Now i look a bit closer i think a bra and bikini bottom set from here would be just the thing to help the mother in law swim. |
