Post subject: Just sent a huge letter of complaint to benefits dept! |
|

Finally had enough. Had enough of people on benefits when they have no need to be. You know the ones I mean, nice car, big screen tv, smoke like a chimney, wear the latest trainers etc etc , and doesnt do a days work to pay for it!
Well, I have finally had enough. Watched a program last night about fat pets and a couple with a fat rott were on it who have been on benefits for 18 years! She had a nervous breakdown 18 years ago...seemed perfectly bloody healthy to me. Gobby as you like!! Able to walk a sodding elephant!! But doesnt work and expects everyone else to pay for them
After the 17 months Iv had, the murder, the shoulder, the car accident, the assult, the shoulder STILL and the heart....Its not been a good time for me and Im seriously hindered as to what I can do. I have to be very careful now not to do anythign strenuous cos of my heart, and my shoulder is still immobile and excruciating.
Im doing 4 hours a day working as a letting agent/admin person to try and make ends meet and find that too much but need the money
I had a few months on benefits (which Iv never ever claimed in my life up til this occasion) and when I got married I rang them to tell them my circumstances had changed and I might not be eligable anymore. They told me a payment had gone out and they want it back. I have had 3 letters now, final demand came yesterday threatening court next. It is £111 and I have not got the money to pay for it. I wonder how many people who DONT BLOODY BOTHER TO TELL THEM!!!
I think it is a bloody cheek though that with everything I have been through and am going through the sodding system cant treat me the way they treat these scabbers who get away with it!! Im not asking for money, a bit of leniency would be nice, but Im saying if they can refuse me any financial help, they can bloody well refuse those tossers who are sponging for nothing!!
Christ, this place owes me something, it was their crappy policing that caused steve to get murdered in the first place, and their crappy policing that allowed me and Tony to get assulted....so wheres the justice!!!!

This sounds more like a 'rant'
Joking aside:
It appears to be the honest people like yourself that get singled out in circumstances like this, probably because it doesn't need any investigation.
It is 'cut and dried' because you've admitted it (quite correctly) so they go all out till they get their few quid back, while letting the real fraudsters, get away with thousands. _________________

It flipping makes me MAD as well . I'M an honest person like yourself but it makes you think does honesty PAY .. The system stinks .
My husband was told years ago that he could claim tax credits back for having his daughter , who lived with her mum at the time . They said as long as his x wasn't claiming then he was entitled to it even though he worked . So he got it and phoned to see if it was right , they said yes and sent some more money , he kept phoning to make sure he was entitled and they kept saying yes .
We saved the money for a year just in case they asked for it back . And when we did eventually spend it . They decided we weren't entitled and we had to pay it all back .
Yet his x had never worked and was banging kids out left right and centre and was living with a guy, and not telling the benefits her circumstances had changed . And they did nothing to her ( when we told them ) and she was getting paid by us the tax payers , and was better of than my husband and I who both work full time ...
I agree with you totally . What a flipping country it stinks |

My experience with the benefits system has mostly been bad and I have got into a real mess by doing the right thing and declaring change of circumstances and for reporting work I had done. I once had my income support and housing benefit stopped and demands for rent arrears I couldn't pay issued after I reported some work I did. It took weeks to sort out and I wouldn't have been able to cope without the help of family. Other people advised me that where I'd gone wrong was advising the Social that I had been doing some work and that I would have been better off doing it as a fiddle and not declaring anything! Their attitude was it was my fault I was in a mess because I had been honest!
So my experience of doing what is right has not done me any good either when I have been on benefits. And I lived on an estate where over 90% of the residents were on some form of benefits and many, as you pointed out, had cars, big screen colour TV, designer clothes, plenty of money for booze and cigarettes etc. I used to wonder how they did this when I was living in poverty! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

Thanks Margaret and Mary.
Bard, I completely know what you mean and it makes me so sad to see that you, too, have been a victim to the unfair system.
Poverty is pretty much what we are living in at the mo and have had some embarrassing handouts from my family (something I have never had to do before). It really makes you wonder just where the justice is.
RedSonja...thats terrible! Dear oh dear.
Yeah, I suppose it is a rant, lol,....wasnt actually going to be until I began writing and then the anger in me took over....ahem.
Anyway, I got a lousy response today which was long winded and useless. They wanted me to grass up people I know of who claim unfairly....but its not really my job. I mean, if they can pick through my life with a fine toothed comb and declare that I am not eligable for any help, then why cant they do that for these people!
Well, to hell with them, Im taking it further. Next step, MP I think. There must be others like me. Obviously not with the same history, but with their own problems which are equally hard to live with, and someone has got to speak up for them.
I feel a crusade coming on!! _________________ http://tufftoppers.jimdo.com/

For a housing benefit overpayment they'll accept £9.15 a week repayments, they don't expect it in one go.
JSA/IS etc will be different.
PS i'm the wanker that recovers Housing Benefit overpayments _________________ My Facebook |

Haha, in our defence we don't get to set the rules, we just enforce them. If you want to complain about the system get a letter off to your MP or someone...
Trust me, it's no better for those of us that work in benefits, we see how much they get and still have to pay them it (or in my case take it back ) _________________ My Facebook |

Exactly, try doing that in another country and you'd get nothing. Why are we so damn stupid in the UK?

Actually it's not quite as easy as most people imagine for a non-uk national to claim benefits, it depends on factors such as which country you've come from, intention to work etc - have a read here _________________ My Facebook |
