are there still hippies living outside puerto de la cruz? I´m going to puerto end of march-brginning of april to do a small documentry about streetartist and or hippies living around puerto. does anyone know anything that could help me in my quest?

There are some living in El Puertito and La Caleta in cliff cave homes and shelters but that's a long way from Puerto. Having been classed as hippy myself for over 30 years I am on the lookout for such people to a degree but haven't encountered many. I suppose it depends on what you mean by the term but if you mean long-haired people with colourful and unusual clothes and alternative lifestyles then they are here but I don't know where in Puerto, although I hear there's a Goth and Metal fans club there somewhere!

Some of the nice hippies from La Caleta have moved as they were fed up with the situation there, the lack of privacy now with the hoards that go there and the 'not so nice hippies that were staying there. The ones I know moved up to La Laguna. Sorry don't know any in Puerto though.

All hippies have always had bad press!

Have the ones in the cliff shelters gone?

I would like to meet the La Laguna ones and it is a place I am considering moving to and where I started!
