El Pinalete is a tiny but very pretty village just outside La Guancha on the road from Icod and Buen Paso to Los Realejos and Puerto. This is probably one of the most scenic roads on the island as it passes through farmland and pine forests and goes so high near Icod el Alto that there are views over the La Orotava valley down to Puerto that are almost like being in a plane.
El Pinalete has a bar on one side of the road and a bar restaurant on the other set in the trees and by a recreation area, a pretty square where events are held, a hermitage, a stream and water tanks, trees and a bus stop on either side of the road. You can have a beer while you wait for the bus!
