Post subject: basic income and cost of living in tenerife |
|
|
| [/b]Hi can anyone give us an idea of the cost of living in Tenerife ie bills and rent. Me my partner and our 5 year old son are moving over next summer and are gonna rent for a year (propably a 2 bed apartment on a residential complex either costa del silencio, los menores or las chafiras areas) Also what is the minimum wage in Tenerife? Thanks |

Rents vary greatly depending on area and on age/quality of apartment. In Costa del Silencio, I believe you could rent a 2 bedroom apartment for between 500-600€. Some landlords will include bills, others won't. I have a two bed and the electric is about 40€/month. I don't think there is an official minimum wage here, but think a lot lower than UK. |

hi
just to ad to what Jenny has said. Rents are changable dependant on area again lol. Golf del sur is expensive for rents, silencio, los abrigos and places outside the main busy areas are cheaper. mine includes all bills so i pay a one off monthly price.
wqages in general are lower. Bar and restaurnts work pays about 5€ per hour, builders how use labourers pay about 50€ a day which is about £35. not sure about PR's lol but most jobs within the tourist trade are not high.
there are other jobs like telesales which pay a basic and commission or just commission. I think its best to say that once you are over hereits easier to get a job than try before you come. most people will only give jobs to people on the island at the time.
i hope this helps a tad _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

I enjoy answering people's questions if I can too. It makes me feel good I could have done with someone to guide me too when I first got here. Though I was quite lucky and soon found the man who is now my husband - he definitely helped me feel more settled here |
