Does any one know of people who actually provide a transfer service from the Airport to PDLA? _________________ www.holidaylettings.co.uk/6794 |

These people do transfares from the airport but I think that you will get a taxi cheaper than what they quote. Also you can get a bus from the airport every 30 minutes the journey to the bus station in PDLA is approx 20 mins for about 3 euro per person

yeah 20 to 25 euros for torviscas is about right.
Although last year we had a load of coppers round stopping taxi drivers as they dropped off guests and then asking the guests how much they were charged, which was 18 or 20 euros and they did the taxi driver for over charging!!!!
Turns out it should be 12 or 13 euros to Los Cristianos according to the old bill - sounds a bit too cheap to me though. |

Hi loaded
There is a 1.65 euro pickup charge from the airport I am not sure what other extras there are becaue they are based in Granadilla and I don't use them that much.If you want to know the exact prices go to the information desk in the airport and they will give you a price sheet with the approximate prices. |

Thank you for your help, I think I will try the company that Irishmusico suggested, I know that they are more expensive but I am just trying to help a particular friend staying in my apartment.

There is a post somewhere on these forums with rough taxi prices. If its anything like here in France though, they charge whatever they want depending on their mood |

Post subject: Taxi Tariffs |
|
|
The taxi tariffs here are quite complicated, and the drivers rely on this in order to overcharge unsuspecting tourists!
In general, you should not pay any extras (shown on the meter as "Supplementos"), unless you are going to or from an airport or seaport (1,65€), or have luggage in the boot (0,35€).
The most usual way for a taxi-driver to artificially increase the fare is by repeated pushing of the Airport Surcharge button.
Hence, one of the most useful pieces of Spanish I have ever learnt is:
"Este es no un aeropuerto"!
It shows the driver that a) you know the tariffs, and b) aren't the "loco Inglés" they think you are!
I will be putting a guide to the taxi tariffs on my website shortly, so keep checking (if the moderators allow me to keep this link in here!)
