Amarilla Golf Club, Ladies v Gents
February saw the fifth annual running of the Ladies versus Gents four ball matchplay competition. Eighteen teams turned out to do battle in what started life as a fun day but which has now become extremely serious. Were there nefarious nocturnal activities or did the men’s white tee markers fall out with the yellows and move back as far as possible? Despite this and those ‘ringers’ who came in and gave yours truly a thrashing, the men still returned triumphant!
A great day was enjoyed by all, finishing with a simple meal and presentation in the clubhouse.
