Millenium Trophy 2006

Amarilla Golf Club in Tenerife held the sixth annual Millenium Trophy on Sunday 15th January 2006 sponsored as usual by Johnny and Debbie Spiller. Ninety three players took advantage of almost perfect weather for an entertaining day of golf; Johnny and Debbie were up early to greet their players and guests offering coffee and brandy on the terrace to start things off. A succession of refreshment carts met players every few holes to keep everyone fed and watered and the brandy bottle was in evidence to take away the cares and worries of those that had cards like mine.

The Prize giving and presentation was held in the terrace bar, Amarilla Golf with Johnny and Debbie bringing along John Lowe (ex world darts champion) Arthur O’Loughlin (world kick boxing champion) and ex Manchester United football star Willie Morgan to assist with the prize giving. Willie Morgan also managed to lift the prize for the best guest golfer, playing off a handicap of 8 and never having played the course before he carded a very creditable 37 points.
