Amarilla Golf Competition
Amarilla golf club held its second major competition of the 2004-2005 season on Sunday 17th October, The Masters. No not that 'Masters' it just so happens that the couple that sponsor this event have the surname of Masters. Conditions were excellent as was reflected in the low scoring produced by some of the members,(someone had to be in a supporting role and I thought I did it quite well!) The eventual winner was Eddi Greygoose with a net 67 playing off 8. Not bad for someone
in his retirement years who was playing off 11 not so long ago. Second was Malcolm Abrahams just one shot off the pace, the handicap secretary's going to be busy! This year there was a category for super seniors (those over 65) which must surely be the majority of members here, this was won by Elizabeth Hatcher, she who claims her handicap is too high and can't play to it, oh yeah?
