Many companies that offer web design have yet to realise or indeed in some cases to learn, the importance of search engine optimisation or to give it its abbreviated form Search Engine Optimization, there is no point in building a website that is only going to be found by using the address, that’s fine for existing customers but what about bringing in new ones from the search engines? The realised importance of SEO in UK terms is far in advance of the equivalent SEO in Spain although as is always the case in a relatively new industry there are many companies and individuals offering their versions of SEO that will bring ‘guaranteed’ results in a few months to a year providing of course the potential customer pays fifty per cent in advance. Examples such as building on a hundred pages at the back of the site and cross linking them is worthless and yet finds customers willing to buy; this is due to lack of knowledge concerning SEO. The more advanced web designers are now including SEO in UK designed sites although this a long way from becoming standard practice SEO in Spain is an unheard of expression to many companies offering web design. There are of course exceptions and we’re not decrying the minority of Spanish companies that can and do turn out some excellent web design, it’s just that the value of SEO in Spain hasn’t been fully appreciated yet or at least isn’t as advanced as SEO in UK.
There are some industries where SEO can be used very effectively and will show obvious results quite quickly; travel SEO is probably one of the most difficult because of the large number of customers booking flights, holidays, hotel accommodation etc. over the internet and also because of the sheer volume of travel companies offering all aspects of travel related requirements. Real estate SEO is another subject that creates hard work for companies offering Search Engine Optimisation because again this industry has been displaying it’s offerings of real estate over the internet for quite some time. The internet is an extremely efficient method of researching real estate; searches can be carried out in all manner of ways even on some real estate sites down to individual streets, thus saving many frustrating hours of wading through unnecessary real estate listings. Will SEO in UK always be ahead of its counterpart SEO in Spain? Only time will tell.
